The Mental Health Plan has been revised
Time for your input

You have three more opportunities to join the discussion about what the McLean County Behavioral Health Action Plan intends to accomplish and how we ensure accountability and real impact. The League is participating with the McLean County Behavioral Health Coordinator and Heartland Community College to provide four feedback sessions. The sessions will present the plan and solicit community insight, input and observations about the plan. You can register and choose from one of the following four sessions:

Consensus Meeting Called
Gun Violence Prevention Study is topic

Given the recent school shooting in Minneapolis, the work the league has been doing on gun violence prevention is more important than ever. A team of members has been collecting information related to gun violence prevention in support of a study for the LWVIL. Based on the information gathered, they have developed recommendations to pass on to the state league.

To assure these recommendations reflect members’ point of view, we will be hosting a Consensus Meeting via Zoom on Sept. 24 at 6 PM. Please set aside an hour to participate in this meeting.

Aside from learning information they have gathered, you will assure that the recommendations we pass on to the state truly reflect our local chapter’s perspective. Registration will be required for this Consensus Meeting, and registrants will receive relevant materials a few days before the meeting.

The Gun Violence Prevention Study Team includes Cathy Lust (chair), Karen Irvin, Vickie Robertson, Sarah Breeden, Sheri Strohl, and Peggy Swerdlik. Many thanks for them for their extensive work on this study!
