Please join the League as we learn more about how government funding actions are impacting our communities, and may affect our daily lives.
This new program is the third in a series that began last fall.
We will once again feature the work of The Documentation Project. This community group formed in 2025 to record the local human impacts of government actions. It aims to inform and engage McLean County residents in public policymaking.
Presenters will discuss what several federally-funded programs do, and what's at stake in our local communities. The featured topics include:
Healthcare and Medicaid
Impact of healthcare cutbacks on our communities and local healthcare providers
Presenter: David Sharar, Senior Advisor of Public Policy and Strategic Initiatives, Chestnut Health Systems
Museums and Libraries
Impact of National Endowment for the Arts grants cancellation
Presenter: Julie Emig, Executive Director, McLean County Museum of History
