The League of Women Voters of McLean County will host its next community information program on Tuesday, March 17, 6:30 PM at Heartland Community College, Community Commons Building room 1406.
The program, Revisiting Justice: Assessing the Impact of Recent Criminal Law Reforms, will bring us up to date on the latest criminal justice reforms, and help us understand how these changes are working out.
Guest panelists are expected to discuss the Safe-T Act, which set up cashless bond and more, the new Fair Act, considered a significant reform to Illinois' public defense system, and the Clean Slate Act, which includes provisions for automatic sealing of nonviolent criminal records.
