The League of Women Voters of McLean County will host its next community information program on Wednesday, November 19 at 6:30 PM at the Bloomington Public Library. The program, Local Impacts of Government Funding Actions, will shine a spotlight on the impact of recent government funding actions on McLean County families and communities.
The program will feature the work of The Documentation Project, a newly-formed community organization. The group records the local human impacts of government actions. It aims to inform and engage McLean County residents in public policymaking.
Presenters will discuss what several federally-funded programs do, and how the funding actions affect our local communities. Q&A and discussion will follow. Topics include:
Nutrition Education
Elimination of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP) program education funding.

Broadband Services
National Telecommunications and Information Administration broadband funding cuts to rural public libraries and rural fiber optic network construction.

Employment for Seniors
Delays in US Dept. of Labor Senior Community Service Employment Program funding, affecting seniors working at Home Sweet Home Ministries.
