Are You Going?
League Fall Kickoff Meeting Next Week 
  
The League's Fall Kickoff Event will center on efforts to energize young people in the democratic process.  You'll learn how Champaign County League of Women Voters developed their Youth Ambassador Program. 
 
There will also be speakers from Heartland Community College and Normal West High School talking about what high school and college students are doing to register to vote, serve as election judges, and overall being involved in our democracy.  
 
Make plans and invite friends to come to the kickoff event on Thursday, October 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bloomington Public Library.  Register and read more info below on the event:
 
 
Upcoming Drinks & Dialogue
 
Join us for another Drinks & Dialogue on Wednesday, October 29 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Gills St. Sports Bar, 3002B Gill St., Bloomington.

Wellness with LWV
Voter Services at Heartland's Wellness Fair
 
Members of the League's Voter Services Committee (VSC) connected with students at Heartland Community College during the school's Wellness Fair in September. VSC had a  table alongside 37 other community organizations to introduce students to service opportunities for themselves and their families. Thanks to Kyle Ciani, Theresa Garrett, Cathy Pratt, Mark and Peggy Swerdlik, and Phylis VerSteegh for your engagement. Next up for the VSC is the Banned Books Kickoff on October 4, 10:30 AM -12:30 PM at the Bloomington Public Library.
