Annual Meeting June 12
Celebrate Us!

Our league's annual meeting is Thursday, June 12th, 6:00 pm, at the Bloomington Public Library. The agenda includes voting on a slate of officers, budget, our Program for the coming year, and more. The annual meeting is a fun time to connect with others, celebrate accomplishments, and help create new ways to pursue our mission.

Discussion topics will include the advocacy ideas developed at our May 14th Action Planning Meeting. You'll want to hear more, and see where you can get involved.

The pre-meeting information packet is ready for your review. Please read through the proposed Program for the coming year, the slate of officers, proposed bylaws changes and more.

See you there!

If you haven't already, please also take a moment to register in advance to help with planning.

For Your Information

The local 50501 group will be facilitating a training led by Sgt. Nowers of the Bloomington Police Department on Deescalation and Police Safety for volunteer safety marshals at community events. The idea behind the 50501 movement was to hold 50 protests in 50 states on 1 day to support upholding the Constitution and ending executive overreach.

50501 is a peaceful, nonpartisan movement that has organized several recent rallies. The local group has invited the LWV of McLean County to partner with them, and after reviewing LWV guidelines on partnerships, the board and members attending the Local Action Planning meeting agreed with our supporting this group.

Therefore, we’re sharing the information on the training they’re sponsoring, which will be held on June 12 from 6 - 7 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 1613 E. Emerson. This will be followed by the first official local chapter meeting of 50501 from 7 - 8 PM.

Though this is the same date and time as our local LWV Annual Meeting, we invite you to share this with other community members who will not be attending our important meeting that evening.
