Learn About Protecting Democracy from Misinformation and Disinformation 
 
If you're interested in more information about how we can protect democracy from the spread of social media and artificial intelligence (AI), be sure to join the virtual event on April 17. The League of Women Voters of Illinois will be hosting the presentation. It will feature Diane Chang, Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Brown Institute for Media Innovation at Columbia Journalism School and former head of Election Integrity and Product Strategy at Meta. It is Wednesday, April 17,from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. and is a virtual event.

Lobby Day on May 1
 
The League of Women Voters of Illinois will be having a Lobby Day on Wednesday, May 1, at the Illinois State Capitol. All League members are invited. Never lobbied before? No worries, assistance will be provided and you can be partnered with an experienced advocate.

Website nominated for Webby Award
 
The Vote411 website has been nominated for the best government and civil innovation website at the 28th Annual Webby People's Voice Awards. The voters guide helps voters understand where candidates stand on the issues voters care most about. Leagues across the country work tirelessly to demand candidates answer questions for our Vote411 voter guides, which are shared unedited on the platform.  
 
Our local members, Kay Moss, Mary O'Brien, and Chad Kahl have been working on the McLean County portion of Vote411.
