Explore 50 Years of Women's Rights
Learn about 50 years of women's rights on Saturday, March 23 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the McLean County Museum of History. The Museum and The League of Women Voters of McLean County welcome you to free, interactive programs exploring the last 50 years of women's rights.
Focusing on four categories -- advancements in economic independence, political participation, activism, and education -- presenters will share stories of women from McLean County's past before opening it up for small group discussions facilitated by local leaders who will share their own stories in each of the categories.
The program will begin and end in the Museum's historic courtroom on the second floor. The small group discussion will occur in various locations throughout the building.
The museum will also have a new Rotunda display installation and the exterior building will be lit up in yellow and purple in honor of Women's History Month.
WGLT will be holding a reception from 4 - 5 p.m. for the 21 women who are being highlighted by the station during this month.
